TikTok is a relatively new social media app that has quickly become a worldwide phenomenon. The platform gives users a unique way to share and view short videos and boasts over 800 million active users worldwide. The app is famous for its unique algorithm that constantly curates a "For You Page" for users, and has also been a hot topic in politics and tech.

Foreword

This began as a group project for Foundations of Information Science (INLS 201), and I have modified it to solely reflect my work. "In Society" is a short overview of the history and current place TikTok holds in politics and the tech world. "Concept Mapping" explains the flow of information from a video's creation on the platform through to the user - in accordance with the course perspective on "selection systems."
